Our Story
After years of leadership as a software engineer and COO for a major oil and gas company, Pioneera Founder and Managing Partner, Sam Pirzadeh, was focused on the idea that evolving manufacturing through technology was key to global competitiveness and keeping these companies headquartered in Canada.
After recognizing the shifting market dynamics and increasing risks in tech investing post-COVID, Pioneera Ventures pivoted from venture capital to private equity—a transition driven by our belief that acquisition opportunities in today’s market need a more viable and aligned strategy. This strategy involves the integration of advanced technologies grounded in Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 principles. Additionally, we seek to invest in the most advanced manufacturing & supply chain technologies that drive sector-wide innovation and provide services to our portfolio.
By acquiring Canadian-based manufacturing companies in key industries, adding capital investment and technology, and expanding their operations beyond Canada’s borders, we can not only grow Canadian companies and keep them rooted in Canada, we can also create opportunities for Canadians and their communities.
